Adam Crepelle* ABSTRACT History is deeply embedded in federal Indian law. According to jurisprudence, Indians were nonagricultural “savages” prior to 1492. Indians’ supposed lack of sophistication played a vital role in foundational cases determining Indian rights and the extent of tribal sovereignty.These new initiatives are led by Adam Crepelle. Adam is an Assistant Professor at Scalia Law School and an enrolled citizen of the United Houma Nation. He also serves as an associate justice on the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Court of Appeals.
